Our Music

Teaching

Philosophy

In order to teach a student to become a musician, we strive to cultivate excellence in everything that’s done in our piano lessons, guitar lessons and singing lessons.

We teach the concepts needed to be a sensitive musician, the proper balance between accompaniment and melody, effective reading of notes and rhythms, and proper fingering needed to achieve the best musical sound followed by ease of execution.

Another area that we emphasize is sight reading. The ability to read music quickly and effectively enables children to learn music on their own, furthering and maintaining their ability to play music, compose and improvise – even after lessons have stopped.

We teach our students through discovery learning.

We encourage students to think on their own rather than just giving instructions and corrections. This music teaching philosophy, can also improve the achievements of our students in their academic endeavors, and allow them to transfer the discipline needed to learn music into school work.

We encourage all students to try playing different musical instruments including

Piano

Keyboard

Electric Guitar

Classic
Guitar

We also encourage our students to try voice lessons or mixed lessons

such as piano&voice or guitar&voice.

Another important part of our teaching philosophy is flexibility. We provide ample opportunities to perform in front of an audience. We offer regular studio recitals, small informal studio classes, and offer participation in many music evens playing the piano, playing the guitar or singing.

We accommodate different learning styles
of each and every student.

We learn the strengths and weaknesses
of each individual student
and adapt to it without compromising excellence.

We assign a variety of repertoire that caters to each student’s preferred music genre or favorite musicians. This will help in the enjoyment part of our teaching philosophy. The interest in the repertoire is the best self-motivator for students. This will motivate the student to practice the piece they want and will make it much easier to teach the musical concepts and other aspects of music.
